ShareDataDump
This is an OpenOffice/LibreOffice spreadsheet which accepts a share EPIC symbol as input, and then compares data from ADVFN, MoneyAM, Yahoo, Morningstar, MSN Money, Dividend Investor and Interactive Investor. The data is primarily that of interest to HYP investors.
There is no plan to create an Excel version. LibreOffice and OpenOffice can be easily installed as an application or a portable app, they are free, and work on Windows, Mac OS and Linux. The tool uses Python scripts (Python is automatically included in LibreOffice and OpenOffice downloads), and no additional software is required.
If you do not have LibreOffice or OpenOffice installed, they are available at these links:

Usage notes
Type an EPIC symbol in the green cell (cell C1) and click on the Refresh Data button. The tool will then gather data from all of the web sites, typically in about 15 seconds. If a website does not respond within a defined period, a message box pops up to inform the user. When the user acknowledges the message, the process continues, ignoring the problematic website. The defined period is a default of 20 seconds, and can be changed in cell B2 on the Parameters sheet.
Row 2 of the MainSheet contains a hyperlink to the company website. This is extracted from ADVFN.
Row 3 of the MainSheet contains hyperlinks to each of the websites that provide data
The data presented is unmodified as far as possible. Data is generally in Sterling, but sometimes in US dollars or Euros. Dividends are sometimes in a mixture of currencies, so a relevant prefix such as GBP is added. No currency conversion is performed by the tool.Differences in dividends may be due to wrong data, inclusion or exclusion of special dividends or different time periods. Dividends are generally presented in terms of Payment Date, but some sites such as Morningstar may show the data in terms of financial year. If it can be determined that the dividend paid in a year includes a special dividend, an asterisk is appended to the dividend, such as GBP 6.59*
Market Cap and number of shares in issue are normally quoted in millions or billions, and the tool converts to millions where necessary.
An empty cell may indicate a zero value, or no data, or non-data such as n/a or NA
Share symbolsThere are many different methods of identifying a company. For example,
The sheet EpicSheet contains data for the FTSE350. Other companies can be added manually. If a symbol such as the Morningstar ID is omitted, the user is warned and processing for the other symbols continues normally.
A list of EPIC codes for the FTSE All-Share is shown here
